Small Business
Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass is committed to providing meaningful roles for
small (SB), small disadvantaged (SDB) 8(a), small HUBZone, woman-owned (WOSB),
veteran-owned (VOSB), service-disabled veteran owned (SDVOSB) business and
Historically Black College or Universities (HBCU) to participate in our
procurement activities. Diversity in purchasing and subcontracting provides
vital links to the local community, increases our flexibility in meeting
project goals, strengthens the local economy, is cost effective and
represents best business practices.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) defines a small business concern
as one that is independently owned and operated, is organized for profit,
and is not dominant in its field. Depending on the industry, size standard
is based on the average number of employees or on sales volume. For more
details about size standards, go to
http://www.sba.gov/size/indextableofsize.html.
The project requires small disadvantaged businesses (SDB) 8 (a) and
HUBZone businesses be certified through the Small Business Administration
(SBA). For more information on certification requirements visit
http://www.sba.gov.
Woman-owned, veteran-owned, and service disabled veteran-owned small
businesses may be self-certifying. If you qualify for one or more of these
small business classifications and you wish to be listed as an interested
small business for federal government bid packages, it is possible to
register on the Department of Defense Central Contractor Registry (CCR) at
http://www.ccr.gov.
Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass requires its bidders for procurement and
subcontracting opportunities to be pre-qualified. To begin the
pre-qualification process you must register on our supplier portal at
http://supplier.bechtel.com. The information you provide will
be utilized to assess your company’s commercial capability (Dunn &
Bradstreet rating, bonding capacity, bid range, business size, and focus)
relative to a given procurement.
While the Bechtel Parsons Blue Grass team seeks to maximize the use of
competition for most project subcontract/purchase opportunities, the
completion of the general and project specific pre-qualification process
does not guarantee participation in any Request for Proposal (RFP).
