As we move toward the destruction of the chemical weapons stockpile located
at the Blue Grass Army Depot, Kentucky, public awareness and involvement
becomes increasingly important.
Public involvement is the cornerstone of the project. In order for the
project to make sound decisions regarding chemical weapons destruction
activities, we need to know what issues are important to you and your family
and how you would like to be involved in the project. Bechtel Parsons Blue
Grass works in partnership with the Department of Defense’s Program Manager
for Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives in partnering with the community
to discuss issues and concerns regarding the safe and environmentally sound
destruction of the stockpile.
Citizens, businesses, public interest groups and civic organizations are
encouraged to contact the project or visit the Blue Grass Chemical Stockpile
Outreach Office to learn more about the Blue Grass Chemical
Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant and the various programs associated with the
stockpile. Speaking engagements can be arranged by contacting the Outreach
Office.
